Common Questions

What Homeowners Ask Us

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?

Generally speaking, if your system is under 10–12 years old and the repair cost is less than half the cost of replacement, a repair usually makes sense. If it's older than 15 years and you're facing a significant repair bill, replacement is often the smarter long-term investment. We'll always give you an honest breakdown of both options.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. We provide free written estimates for all new installations. For service calls and repairs, there is a diagnostic fee that gets credited toward the repair if you proceed with us.

How long does a furnace installation take?

Most standard furnace replacements are completed in one day. More complex installations — those involving new ductwork, venting changes, or gas line modifications — may take two days. We'll give you a clear timeline before we schedule.

What brands do you work with?

We work with all major HVAC brands including Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Bryant, Rheem, York, Goodman, and others. We'll recommend the brand and model that best fits your home and budget — not whatever we have in highest inventory.

How often should I have my system serviced?

We recommend a heating tune-up every fall and a cooling tune-up every spring. Annual maintenance keeps your system running efficiently, extends its life, and catches small problems before they become expensive ones.

What should I do if my heat goes out?

Call us immediately: +1 (914) 224-9439. We're available 24/7 for heating emergencies. In the meantime, check that your thermostat is set correctly, your filter isn't completely clogged, and your circuit breaker hasn't tripped.

Are you licensed in both New York and Connecticut?

Yes. Comfort One is licensed and insured to perform HVAC work in both New York and Connecticut. License # [License #].

Do you offer financing?

We're working on establishing financing options for larger installations. In the meantime, please ask us about our current payment options when you request an estimate.
